Chomu.
Journalists should use their pens to relieve the suffering of the common people and earn the blessings of the distressed through responsible and compassionate journalism, said Professor Ramesh Kumar Rawat, National Spokesperson and Media In-Charge of the All India Khandelwal Vaishya Mahasabha and Registrar of Sikkim Professional University, Gangtok (Sikkim).
On behalf of the All India Khandelwal Vaishya Mahasabha, Professor Rawat welcomed the office bearers of the Chomu Press Club and journalists of Chomu city at the historic Garh Ganesh Temple. On this occasion, he honoured them by presenting a garland of five-faced Rudraksha beads inscribed with the natural Himalayan “Om” symbol, brought specially from Sikkim.
During the programme, Professor Rawat explained the religious and spiritual significance of Rudraksha beads ranging from one-faced to fourteen-faced and shared information about their uses. He stated that just as Lord Shiva gave multi-faced Rudraksha beads in the form of his tears to remove the suffering of his devotees, journalists too should practice journalism in such a way that their words bring relief to the common people and earn the blessings of those in distress.
