नई दिल्ली, 16 अप्रैल सीमा सड़क संगठन (BRO) में कार्यरत महिला अस्थायी श्रमिकों को मातृत्व लाभ दिलाने के उद्देश्य से एक जनहित याचिका (PIL) सुप्रीम कोर्ट में दायर की गई है। यह याचिका Border Road Organization Labour Union (BROLU) की ओर से उनके प्रतिनिधि लेकी त्सेरिंग द्वारा दायर की गई है। इस याचिका में मांग की गई है कि BRO में मस्टर रोल या दैनिक वेतन पर कार्यरत महिला श्रमिकों को मातृत्व लाभ अधिनियम, 1961और संशोधन अधिनियम, 2017 के अंतर्गत सभी वैधानिक लाभ प्रदान किए जाएं। यह मांग अरुणाचल प्रदेश सहित देशभर में कार्यरत महिला श्रमिकों के लिए की गई है। यह मामला बुधवार को सुप्रीम कोर्ट की कोर्ट नंबर 7 में आइटम नंबर 10 के रूप में सूचीबद्ध था। इस महत्वपूर्ण मामले की पैरवी सुप्रीम कोर्ट की प्रसिद्ध अधिवक्ता और ह्यूमन राइट्स प्रोटेक्शन सेल (HRPC) की चेयरपर्सन डॉ ज्योति ज़ोंगलुजू द्वारा की जा रही है। उन्होंने अदालत के समक्ष महिला श्रमिकों की समस्याओं को प्रभावी ढंग से प्रस्तुत किया। न्यायालय ने अधिवक्ता डॉ ज्योति ज़ोंगलुजू की दलीलों को गंभीरता से लेते हुए महिला अस्थायी श्रमिकों की पीड़ा को स्वीकार किया और भारत सरकार तथा अरुणाचल प्रदेश सरकार सहित सभी प्रतिवादियों को नोटिस जारी किया।यह मामला न केवल महिला अधिकारों बल्कि श्रमिक कल्याण के लिए भी एक महत्वपूर्ण मिसाल बनने की दिशा में अग्रसर है।
