સરદાર સરોવર ડેમમાં મોટા પાયે પાણી છોડાતા હજારો નાગરિકો પુરમાં ફસાયા, કરોડો રૂપિયાની ઘરવખરી અને સંપત્તિને નુકસાન થયું.
આસપાસના ગામોમાં ખેડુતોની કિંમતી જમીન ધોવાઈ તેમ છતાં ભાજપ સરકાર લાજવાને બદલે ગાજી રહી છે ત્યારે આ માનવ સર્જીત આપત્તિમાં પણ કોંગ્રેસ પક્ષ ભરુચ, નર્મદા, વડોદરા સહિતના વિસ્તારમાં પાણીમાં ફસાયેલા નાગરિકોને મદદ કરી રહી છે.
ગુજરાત પ્રદેશ કોંગ્રેસ સમિતિના પ્રમુખ અને સાંસદશ્રી શક્તિસિંહ ગોહિલે ગઈ કાલે રાત્રે જ સ્થાનિક આગેવાનોને પુરગ્રસ્ત વિસ્તારમાં સપડાયેલા નાગરિકો ખાસ કરીને નાના બાળકો, મહિલાઓ અને વૃધ્ધોને શક્ય મદદ કરવા માટે ખાસ અપીલ કરી હતી.
સાથોસાથ કોંગ્રેસ પક્ષના કાર્યકરો-આગેવાનો વહિવટી તંત્રને પણ મદદકર્તા બને જેથી રાહતની કામગીરી ઝડપી થાય સાથોસાથ અસરગ્રસ્ત પરિવારો અને વહિવટી તંત્ર વચ્ચે કોંગ્રેસ પક્ષના કાર્યકરો સંકલનમાં સંકટના સાથીદાર બને તે રીતે જવાબદારી પૂર્વક કામ કરવા પણ જણાવ્યું છે.
વડાપ્રધાન નરેન્દ્ર મોદીનો જન્મદિવસ ઉજવવા સરદાર સરોવર ડેમમાંથી એક સાથે 18 લાખ ક્યુસેક પાણી છોડાતા આસપાસના ગામડાની જમીનો ધોવાય અને રહેણાક વિસ્તારોમાં પાણી ફરી વળ્યા તથા ખુબ જ મોટા પાયે નુકશાન થયેલ છે.
આજ રોજ ગુજરાત પ્રદેશ કોંગ્રેસ સમિતિના પ્રમુખ અને સાંસદ શ્રી શક્તિસિંહ ગોહિલની સુચના અનુસાર ગુજરાત કોંગ્રેસના પ્રતિનિધિ મંડળના ભરૂચ જિલ્લા કોંગ્રેસ પ્રમુખ પરિમલસિંહ રણા, ભરૂચ શહેર જિલ્લા કોંગ્રેસ પ્રમુખ હરીશ પરમાર, પ્રદેશ કોંગ્રેસ સંગઠનના માજી મંત્રી અરવિંદભાઈ દોરાવાલા, વિપક્ષના નેતા શમસાદ સૈયદ, દંડક હેમેન્દ્ર કોઠીવાલા, નગરપાલિકાના ચૂંટાયેલા સભ્યો સલીમ અમદાવાદી, ઈબ્રાહિમ કલકલ સહિત કોંગ્રેસના આગેવાનો આગેવાનોએ પુરને કારણે ભારે નુકશાન થયેલ વિસ્તારોની મુલાકાત લીધી અને સંભવતઃ મદદ કરવાની શરૂઆત કરી હતી.
વડોદરા જીલ્લામાં ચાંદોદ-કરનાલી વિસ્તારમાં જીલ્લા કોંગ્રેસ સમિતિના પ્રમુખશ્રી સાગર બ્રહ્મભટ્ટ, કાર્યકારી પ્રમુખશ્રી અભિષેક ઉપાધ્યાય, શ્રી સંગ્રામસિંહ રાઠવા સહિતના સ્થાનિક કાર્યકરો-આગેવાનોએ અસરગ્રસ્ત પરિવારોની મુલાકાત લઈ તેમને શક્ય મદદ કરવાની શરૂઆત કરી હતી.
